(a.k.a. “How Not to Be That Annoying Colleague”)
Progressivebyte Ltd.
1. Professional Behavior #
- Be respectful. Sounds simple, right? Yet every office has that one person who needs reminding.
- Treat colleagues, clients, and partners with professionalism. Gossip = fine (a little), personal attacks = No.
- Diversity & inclusion aren’t buzzwords here — they’re non-negotiable. Don’t be that person who makes others uncomfortable.
2. Honesty is Still a Thing #
- No lying, no cheating, no “creative expense bills.” HR’s side-eye is sharper than you think.
- Handle company assets (laptops, data, money, even staplers) like they’re yours. Except they’re not. Return them when asked.
- Confidential information stays confidential. Whispering project secrets at coffee shops = not smart.
3. Attendance & Punctuality #
- Show up. On time. Repeatedly being “stuck in traffic” is not a personality trait.
- Scrums, meetings, and deadlines → they’re not optional. Missing them reflects on your performance.
- Flexibility is fine, but disappearing without notice = red flag.
#
4. Communication & Tools #
- Use office channels (like Pumble, email, GitHub) for official stuff.
- No, cat memes don’t belong in the “Project Updates” channel.
- Mention people when you need them. Shouting into the void won’t get you replies.
- Keep it respectful, no ALL CAPS screaming unless your laptop’s on fire.
5. Conflict & Complaints #
- Got a problem? Raise it with your manager or HR — not in a passive-aggressive group chat at midnight.
- We solve issues through discussion, not through office politics.
- If you disagree, be constructive. “This sucks” is not feedback, but “Here’s how we can fix this” is.
6. Ethics in Growth #
- Your performance = your growth = your bonus. Gaming the system won’t help.
- Respect evaluations, take feedback, and improve. Rolling your eyes doesn’t count as “action taken.”
- Promotions and increments come from results, not from buttering up managers (though occasional coffee runs don’t hurt).
7. The Bottom Line #
We’re not writing this to sound like your school principal. These ethics and office policies are here because:
- A respectful, honest workplace = happy team.
- Happy team = smooth projects.
- Smooth projects = everyone wins (and gets bonuses).
8. Accountability #
- Repeated policy violations may lead to further action as per HR guidelines.
- Let’s just sa. It’s easier to follow the rules than to attend calls about not following them.
Cool Tip: Corporate ethics aren’t about memorizing rules. They’re about common sense — show up, be decent, do your job, and don’t make HR write passive-aggressive emails.
