(a.k.a. “Be on Time, Don’t Make Us Babysit You”)
Progressivebyte Ltd.
Attendance / Punctuality #
- We expect you to be regular and punctual. Translation: be in the office and ready to work at your actual starting time — not “grabbing coffee, scrolling Instagram, and then maybe starting”
- Use the fingerprint system to check in and out—no excuses, no clones, just quick, painless, and mandatory (because payroll believes the machine, not your stories)
- Being late or skipping days = dumping your workload on teammates = not cool.
- If you’re 5 days late (yes, we’re counting), congratulations—you’ve just earned the honor of sponsoring a food party for the team. Think of it as turning your ‘bad habit’ into everyone else’s ‘good day’.
Can’t make it?
- Tell your supervisor before work starts
- Leaving a voicemail and disappearing isn’t an option (unless it’s a true emergency). If you do leave one, call back later that day
Chronic tardiness = HR frown + possible disciplinary action.
Absence Without Notice #
- Sick or had an accident? Let your supervisor know so coverage can be arranged.
- If you go remote without prior notice or approval, it will be counted as a casual leave.
- Disappear for two days in a row without notice → we’ll assume you’ve quit and we’ll remove you from payroll. Simple.
- Feeling unwell during work or need to leave early? Inform your supervisor before sneaking out.
Office Hours #
- Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Weekly total = 45 hours.
- Your Holi Moli Day will be on Friday, 2nd & 4th Saturday. Total: 6 days. It seems like you got One over the innings.
- Lunch Period-
- You get 1.15 hour for lunch (between 1:00 PM and 2:15 PM).
- Outside that → no extended coffee runs or “quick naps” in the name of breaks.
N.B.: We do allow a 20-minute grace period because mornings can be tough sometimes given that we live in a chaotic city like Dhaka. However, if arriving after 9:20 AM becomes your recurring hobby, for each 3 days of late arrival, one office day will be deducted.
Break Period #
- Production time = no random breaks.
- Got urgent personal business? Talk to your supervisor, don’t vanish.
- Personal errands = your own time, not company time.
- Abuse the break policy too often → warning → disciplinary action → goodbye paycheck.
Timekeeping #
- Record your Entry & Exit daily in the company’s online timekeeping system.
- Extra-long breaks or personal time = not paid.
- Don’t alter, fake, or punch time for someone else. That’s instant disciplinary action (and possibly termination).
- Authorized staff will review time logs weekly. Supervisor approval is needed for any changes.
Cool Tip: Don’t try to be a “hero” by clocking in for your buddy — HR has eyes like hawks.
Exceptions #
WFH, part-time, offshore, or special roles may follow different hours.
Final Note:
Being on time, leaving on time, and logging your hours properly isn’t rocket science. Follow the simple rules → no drama → everybody’s happy.
